not much, they don't do max damage, maybe you could salvage the upgrades and sell them.

Yeah... selling them as is, you'd be lucky to get 100g each...

But if you could salvage the +25 fortitude upgrade or the Icy bowstring, you might be able to sell the upgrades for some cash...

He won't be able to salvage the +25 fortitude upgrade, as that particular battle axe is a quest reward given by Rangil Ironbow in Traveller's Vale, and is unsalvageable.

Just sayin'.

are you sure? I think I picked it up in a drop....anyway when I salvaged it I got a Fortitude Grip. I took your advice and salvaged all of the items each one of them produced the upgrade.

So I'm at the Gates of Kryta...which I assume is a pretty good length into the game...and I feel like such a noob but I honestly don't have any idea how to price things. How do you guys know what something is worth?

Items are worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them.

I brought 2 Massive Jawbones today for 1,000 gp each today and there was a guy next to me willing to buy some for 100 ... Needless to say he sold me his so these jaws are worth 1,000 to me but I got my holy rod so I am happy.

Just have the trade channel open and just see the general price, after awhile you just know how much people are going to pay.

maybe I just need to spend more time sitting around in towns and outposts. I almost never stay in a town/outpost for more than 5 minutes. I've been trying to sell a couple of Minor Runes and a Major Rune of Vigor for like a week.....I can't even get anybody to offer.

any suggestion on the best places to sell stuff....

side note...they need some type of Town Market. where you can go to buy/sell/trade...that way you know everyone there is looking to move goods.

Pretty much, especially for weapons, how close they get to max damage along with upgrades with attention paid to max damage as someone may have the upgrades they want, will determine how expensive or how much you may get for an item. Some upgrades like +10% damage when health is above 50%, skill upgrades like +1 <insert attribute> (20% chance), increase poison duration (poison bow string), or increase bleeding duration are more sought after and command a higher price but like alkarzar items are worth what someone is willing to pay. For me, if the item is more than 1 or 2 from max, I will salvage the upgrades if possible.

My suggestion would be to watch the trade channel and see what all people are asking. Now just because they are asking for a particular price doesn't mean they are worth it. What you should take notice is the same person trying to sell an item at a particular price and see how many times they have to offer it before (or if) they sell it.

Lion's Arch district 1 has pretty much become a trading post, you get there right after Gates of Kryta.

Do like me, just start giving them away I got sick of trying to sell crap, so I just give runes away unless the trader is buying them for anything decent. I sell all my white and blue weapons to merchants unless they are halfway decent, then I jump to Ascalon and give them away to new players. The only stipulation is that they must be a primary character (warrior gets sword..etc) and I ask that they don't sell it for profit since I was giving it away to be nice.

So is salvaging items that arent max damage a good general rule?

I found a blue longsword (Shocking longsword of Fortitude I think) but its only damage 8-11. It would be better for me to salvage it and sell off whichever upgrade it gives me?

I have found this to be true...that's the general answer I get for anything that's more than a couple points away from max dmg...but wait for someone else to reply before you start doing this

or you could go to Ascalon D1, or if it is full go to D2, but need to be a fast reader because the chat goes by quickly....
